Power Ranch Elementary puts a focus on community building through its House System. The school is divided into four houses: Aqua, Ignus, Terra, and Verdus (Latin for the four elements: Water, Fire, Earth, and Wind). The House System design gives students an identity and sense of pride in a supportive and secure environment. The Houses provide for positive competition and closer rapport between students and teachers.
Power Ranch is the only Higley elementary campus to offer weekly elective courses for our students in first through sixth grade. Electives are designed by student interests and are focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Wellness. Throughout the year, students showcase what they have learned to peers, parents, and the community. Power Ranch offers Higley Youth Sports League, elementary school band/orchestra, Gifted education, and accelerated math and reading beginning in 3rd grade.
Who Qualifies for Kindergarten?
If your child will be 5 years of age by August 31 of school year you wish to enroll, he or she qualifies for kindergarten.
If your child will be 5 years of age between September 1 and December 31 of that school year, you may consider having your child tested to see if he/she will qualify for early kindergarten entrance.

Registration may be completed through the District’s online system. Families will be contacted on a business day within 48 hours.
If you are unable to complete the online registration, you may print and complete registration forms and return them to your school during business hours.

Please be sure to bring the following documents when registering your child, along with your completed registration packet:
• Child’s Birth Certificate
• Child’s Immunization Record
• Proof of Residency
